I’ve been working on this habit for several years and I’ve mastered different aspects of it over time, but I’m really proud of my recent progress. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. That may seem trivial or something you’d do without thinking, but eating three healthy meals a day has been a real struggle for me. Hooray for food!
It’s good to know my boundaries. It’s also good to nap. Today I realized I needed a nap and I took one. It was just what I needed.
Snail Mail makes one’s heart light. Going to your mailbox and getting more than just a bill or advertisement feels amazing. I like making people feel amazing so I write letters.
I’ve done a fair amount of celebrating this year but today was special. Celebrating the miracle of life is a beautiful blessing. It was a huge privilege being able to celebrate and fellowship with my cousin and her husband. This is their second little girl and she already has her own room in my heart.
(Annnnnnd now I’ve caught that baby fever…)
July Craft Project: a Cajon. Adam was kind enough to let me help stain it today. This is going to be one pretty homemade drum!
I got to take a 4 or 5 mile walk with my best friend today. I’m very privileged to even be able to say that… I’m glad I seized the day today.
I’m so glad that the water I got on my coffee table smiled at me. I really needed to be reminded in a gentle way that I can smile through painful and hurtful things that are said. I can choose joy.
Thank God for the little things! I’m learning to not get so set on a task that I miss all the beautiful little things in life. This succulent was growing several different places on a stone wall that I passed on my walk today and it made me smile. The little things mean a lot.
Note: peeling the skin off of jalapeños without gloves is not advisable. However, fresh jalapeños on a grilled cheese sandwich with cream cheese is AWESOME. Being colorful is pretty tasty!
Building memories and a relationship with our niece is so much fun! Adam and I got to take Danica out for her birthday and she made the bracelet she’s wearing in the picture. Adam was super great help at keeping her engaged in the task and holding her to see the beads!
