We can find beauty in things we don’t like… I don’t like the color orange, but these roses were exquisite. I can find something to appreciate and admire in things I don’t generally take to. [Take this DD as you may, but even something as simple as the color of roses can teach us something.]
[NOTE: I’m posting this after the fact because I finally got WordPress to love me again! I wasn’t able to format the post and publish it, but all seems well now!]
If ya’ll forgot, I was working out earlier this year with my awesome neighbor. And, if you haven’t noticed, I’ve been keeping mum on that front. The silence was because we’ve been really sporadic about getting together. One thing or another seemed to be getting in the way, however there is hope! Heather and I are back at it and chipping away at our health goals. I may be extra sore, but I’m oh so proud. Cheers to getting back “on the horse” so to speak.
[COLOR CHANGING SILLY PUTTY IS AT TARGET!!!! I’ve been looking for this for Adam for YEARS! It’s the best. Seriously.]
Today I had a perception get blown up and I didn’t get instant rage when it happened! There are times we want what we think to be true so badly that we can’t see properly, but thank God for the truth!
[I went to have lunch with someone and had all kinds of opinions on what I thought they’d say. This person blew me away with their insights, maturity, and poise. Usually I’m so blinded by my opinion that I miss if a person has changed, but I’m proud to say that I’ve changed.]
[Also, I love my Wall.E coloring book. I am an adult.]
I’ve been very lazy about taking constructive me time. I kept saying that I wanted to paint my nails, but I’d sit and play a game. When I take time for myself to relax I don’t want to just zone out or become a zombie. Living that slight edge life is about living on purpose. So, tonight I painted my nails… Easy to do, easy not to do.
[I may or may not have gotten nail polish on the sink…]
[…Okay, I did get nail polish on the sink. I’ll clean it up!]
Taking another fashion risk: the color brown. Cook Family 3.0 is more into the black and grey side of the fashion world. I don’t have anything against the color, I think a lot of people look great in it, but I just haven’t wrapped my mind around the brown and tan side of the fashion world. Still have a lot to learn…
[Also, Adam is going to look great tomorrow! Picture to follow.]
Taking color risks is SO MUCH FUN!!
While doing a little work on gift ideas for Adam, I got to thinking… As we grow together as a couple our gift giving will just get better. As we learn the heart of the ones we love we learn to bless them better. I’m really excited about buying Adam some ‘just because’ gifts this year and be a more effective blessing.
[If you can’t tell, one of my love languages is gifts. Christmas 2014 gift idea list has already been framed up. Annnnnnnd, I’d like to say I love these tights! I feel like a peacock when I wear them!]
Miniature Craft Project: nail polish color list. I’ve wanted something to be able to look at an see what colors I have quickly and this did the trick! I’m considering getting a small notebook at some point…
My word for 2013 is ‘colorful’, and this dress is a real change for me. I’m excited to be branching out wearing some patterns and adding color [check out that phone case!!].
